Stephen Hogbin Award for Wood Working Studies

This award was established in memory of one of Canada’s most accomplished, skilled, and celebrated woodworkers, whose dedication to craftsmanship and excellence left a lasting legacy in the field. The award supports students pursuing post-secondary studies related to woodworking and the skilled trades, including contemporary craft and design, cabinetmaking and furniture design, wood carving, joinery, carpentry, and woodturning. It is intended to encourage the development of technical skill, creativity, and a strong appreciation for traditional and modern woodworking practices.

Applications will be accepted for students that meet the following requirements:
a)  Student from Grey County or Bruce County
b)  New or returning student at an eligible University or College in a course of study related to woodworking including any of the following disciplines: contemporary craft and design, cabinet making (cabinetry and furniture), wood carving, joinery, carpentry, and woodturning.
c) Students who express financial need and wish to participate in woodworking programs (with preference for courses offered by the Intersections Wood Collaborative)
