Southgate Neighbourhood Small Grants 2026
Southgate Neighbourhood Small Grants Bring Community Together
OWEN SOUND, July 2nd, 2026 – Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Southgate Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program. Five community-led projects have each received $500, investing a total of $2,500 in initiatives that bring neighbours together and strengthen the Township of Southgate.
Neighbourhood Small Grants provide grassroots funding that empowers residents to create positive change in their communities. Made possible through the Southgate Community Fund, the program supports projects that build connections, encourage participation, and enhance community life.
"Neighbourhood Small Grants show what can happen when local residents are given the opportunity to bring their ideas to life," says Stuart Reid, Executive Director of Community Foundation Grey Bruce. "These projects help strengthen neighbourhoods by creating opportunities for people to connect with and support one another."
Funding for the Southgate Neighbourhood Small Grants is made possible through the Southgate Community Fund, which supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents across the Township of Southgate.
This year's recipients are:
- Edgewood Suites Social Group – Accessible Garden boxes for seniors.
- Dundalk Santa Claus Parade Committee – Support for the annual community parade.
- Dundalk 7 – A networking event connecting long-time and new residents.
- Young At Heart Seniors Club #561 – Social and educational activities for seniors.
- Southgate Ride & Unite Group – A free family bike ride and community fun day.
Since launching in Southgate, the Neighbourhood Small Grants program has helped residents transform simple ideas into meaningful community initiatives. By investing directly in local people, the program continues to foster a stronger sense of belonging and encourage neighbours to build lasting relationships.
