Community Foundation Grey Bruce is hiring a Vital Signs Marketing Intern. This position is a temporary internship for summer 2025 and is appropriate to a student seeking summer employment and work experience related to a course of study in community health, marketing & communications, statistics, event management or nonprofit management.

About the Position

Report to the Executive Director of the Foundation
30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm with an unpaid hour for lunch
Pay rate is $17.60 per hour
Ideal candidate would have skills and experience with creative writing, graphic design, video, social media knowledge and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

What are Vital Signs?

Vital Signs is a community check-up that measures vitality, identifies significant trends and supports action on issues that are critical to quality of life
Our Vital Signs report contains important data on eight topics: Our Community, Thriving in Grey Bruce, Sustainable Communities & Housing, Good Health & Wellbeing, Youth & Lifelong Learning, Culture & Recreation, Our Natural Environment, Belonging & Inclusion
Our aim is that this Vital Signs report will be an agenda-setting tool - a list of priorities for our community to consider in the coming years
The report will not only assist the Foundation in establishing granting priorities, but will also aid work by local agencies
We hope a successful Vital Signs report will also generate discussion, forge new partnerships towards collective impact, and ultimately result in a healthier community and a better quality of life for all

Tasks & Responsibilities

Support Vital Signs report development and data organization
Support Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) community consultations on Vital Sign’s data at community events and open houses
Support CFGB website and social media by creating digital web content (video, photos, text) for integration into site and socials, relating to feedback on community wellbeing data supplied in Vital Signs report
Create videos for web content promoting CFGB Vital Signs data, knowledge and outcomes related to community wellbeing, to new audiences, highlighting community testimonials in response to data on community wellbeing
Schedule and administer CFGB’s social media (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) for the summer months, promoting Vital Signs data releases on indicators of community wellbeing as well as regional community projects including summer festivals and events, grant presentations, and special events funded by the Foundation
Visit community grant recipients, including regional summer festivals and events, accompanied by Foundation staff, to document and promote activity and record community storytelling
Attend and document regional community projects, grant presentations, special events and open houses funded by the Foundation, including interviews and testimonials from participants, and upload content (text, photos, video) to the Foundation’s social media feeds
Edit, organize and perform post-production work on legacy videos
As a member of the Foundation team, the Intern will contribute to office administration including answering phones, addressing general inquiries
Workday will take place primarily in the Foundation’s Owen Sound office with travel across Grey Bruce as required.
