Community Foundation Congratulates Scholarship & Bursary Recipients

Community Foundation Grey Bruce (CFGB) congratulates the 74 successful scholarship and bursary applicants throughout Grey and Bruce counties. Over $90,000 will be distributed in the coming weeks to support these Grey & Bruce students as they pursue their post-secondary education.  Over 200 worthy applications were received. Community Foundation thanks all applicants and commends all students across Grey and Bruce for their desire to further their education and pursue their career goals.

One award recipient writes, “Wow, I am speechless. What an honour this is. Thank you and the Community Foundation Grey Bruce for everything you have done to promote post secondary education in the area. I am very grateful.”

Students displayed a wide variety of interests through a diverse range of programs including agriculture, architecture, arts, business, climate change, communication studies, crop science, design, equipment technician, film studies, hairstyling, health sciences, humanities, law, linguistics, massage therapy, mechanical engineering, medical radiation technology,  medical sciences, medicine, music, music therapy, police foundations, political economy, power engineering, psychology, and registered practical nursing.  Community Foundation hopes to see these students use their acquired knowledge and training to contribute to vital, healthy, and resilient communities.

Community Foundation Grey Bruce holds over $2.2 million in endowed education funds that support scholarships, bursaries, and awards. Executive Director Stuart Reid tells us that “starting an education endowment that will provide an annual scholarship might be something that a family considers as part of estate planning. Your donation can lift Grey Bruce students up by supporting their education; it’s quite a legacy!”

Donations can be made to help grow any CFGB Endowed Funds through the CFGB website. Donors will receive a charitable receipt when qualified.
