Introducing 'Third Thursday Toolbox'
Join Community Foundation Grey Bruce each month on the Third Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm to participate in a webinar series designed to help charities and non-profits. In place of the annual Spring workshop, these webinars will feature a different monthly presentation about topics pertinent to the charitable sector.
January’s webinar’s topic is Fundraising Event Success in Uncertain Times. By discussing fundraising event basics, event planning in uncertain times and fundraising event alternatives, Larissa Stoddart of Growth & Co. will lead attendees through ways to adapt their event fundraising efforts during COVID and other fundraising strategies to use when social distancing rules get in the way of event success.
February will look at Maintaining Positive Mental Health during Challenging Times. Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce’s Youth Awareness Co-ordinator Jackie Ralph tells how mental health can impact Not-for-Profit organizations, with information and resources that can be used to support each other and our mental health through these times.
In March, our toolbox will focus on So…You Want to Apply for a Grant? Community Foundation Granting Co-ordinator Wendy Bachiu discusses the Foundation’s 2021 granting updates, then seasoned grant writer Kate Russell will give advice on how to make your grant application the very best it can be.
April’s webinar’s topic is Stream of Consciousness in Community Engagement. Robert Iantorno, the Curator at the South Grey Museum, will discuss how to create engaging social media posts, leveraging local media, synergies with groups inside and outside the community, why you shouldn’t plan everything, Virtual Visits, and of course, the many consequences of “calling it as you see it”.
The May webinar will look at Donor Stewardship Strategies. Rachel Taylor, the Development Officer at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, will share what donor stewardship is, why it is important, and how to build a stewardship plan that is meaningful for your donors and manageable for your organization.
June, our last gathering before the summer break, allows attendees to participate in an Open-Sharing Networking Opportunity to connect with other local non-profits. Come tell us what's on your mind!
Watch for future “Toolbox Topics”, that tentatively include:
Marketing Your Not-for-Profit
Engaging Corporate Sponsors
Cultural Awareness & Diversity in Governance
