Community Foundation Grey Bruce is governed by a working board of directors made up of communty members interested in shaping the future of Grey and Bruce Counties.



Michelle Forge Meaford

MICHELLE FORGE is a long-time resident of Meaford. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Toronto. Since retiring as the Superintendent of Student Services with the Bluewater District School Board, Michelle has been involved in numerous provincial, national, and international initiatives related to school and system leadership, special education, school-based mental health, and the development of multi-sector partnerships. Michelle is passionate about the power and possibilities of local, provincial, and national collaboration and its potential for positive impact on the health, well-being, and success of all segments of our communities and society.

Rick Hill Wiarton

RICK HILL retired in 2022 after 39 years as Executive Director of Community Living Associations in Grey and Bruce County. During his career Rick was involved with many planning tables both locally and provincially including local planning groups for mental health, social services, housing, Children’s Alliance. Rick holds a Certificate in Non Profit Management from York University and was extensively engaged in developing and implementing models for Shared Services within the non-profit environment. This focus involved both corporate governance arrangements, partnership agreements and building of trust relationships. Rick is married (Tina Hill) and has two sons and four grandchildren. Tina and Rick now both retired enjoy spending their time between their home and cottage in Wiarton and Neyaashiinigmiing.

Cheryl Ann Hynds Shallow Lake

Cheryl Ann is an active Board Member of the Shallow Lake Skating Club. She was also a member of the Organizing Committee of the successful Ice Dreams Skating Competition held in Owen Sound in January 2017. She has been involved with the CFOS/Sun times Christmas Broadcast since 2013.

Cheryl Ann is a graduate of the University of Windsor, and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. She is the Community Manager for the North Shore for RBC Royal Bank of Canada, she has been in the local market since 2013, and has 26 years with RBC, in various roles. Cheryl Ann lives in Shallow Lake with her husband and two daughters.

Terry King Owen Sound

Director / Treasurer
Terry has been an Owen Sounder since birth. After graduating from the University of Waterloo in 1976, he received his CA designation in 1978 and his CFP in 1999. He has been a partner with King and Associates LLP Chartered Accountants since its inception in 1981. He can assist entrepreneurial clients in areas of owner/manager remuneration, succession planning, sales and acquisitions, employee compensation arrangements and general business counselling. Terry is married with two children and is a member of the Ramoca Shrine Club and is actively involved in minor lacrosse.

Kerry Lee Annan

A lawyer specializing in family law and mediation, Kerry practiced in Owen Sound and Meaford from 1989 to 2017. She's been an active volunteer and has served on many boards in the non-profit sector in our region such as Keystone Child and Youth Services, Harmony Centre and REACH Centre Grey/Bruce. She was also a founding board member and Chair of Safe ‘N Sound Homelessness Initiative 2007 to 2010. Kerry brings a diversity of skill sets to the board apart from legal and mediation training and experience – she has overseen incorporation of non-profits including drafting bylaws and policy development. In 2000, Kerry was the recipient of the YMCA Peace Medallion for promotion of peaceful and respectful conflict resolution.

Alanna Leffley Owen Sound

Alanna Leffley a contract Epidemiologist at the Middlesex London Health Unit and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Community Foundation Grey Bruce. Alanna has sat on the boards of the Association of Public Health Epidemiologists in Ontario and the Ontario Public Health Association. She has been an active committee member on the Foundation’s Vital Signs Advisory Committee since 2015.

Clarke McLeod Owen Sound

Clarke is recently retired from BDO Owen Sound. He was a Financial Advisory Services Partner servicing clients throughout the Southern and Midwestern Ontario Region. As both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, Clarke has over 20 years of combined public practice experience in the financial advisory services, audit and accounting, and consulting fields. As an advisor to small and medium enterprises, Clarke has worked closely with entrepreneurs assisting in business acquisitions and divestitures establishing notional values and providing due diligence services. Clarke is a current member and a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound. He and his wife live in Owen Sound.

Jane Phillips Annan

Jane Philips holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Guelph, a marketing diploma from Ryerson University, and a Teaching and Training Adults certificate from Georgian College. Jane has a diverse set of employment experiences as an educator, marketer, journalist, and business owner. She has 35 years experience in business development and 40 years experience in self employment. She was the manager of the Business Enterprise Centre in Owen Sound for 18 years. She has been an active volunteer in our community with the Owen Sound Little Theatre, as a Past President of the Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member of Safe N Sound.

John Van Bastelaar Saugeen Shores

John Van Bastelaar has lived in Port Elgin since 1971 with his wife June. He has a long history of community engagement including holding political office as the last mayor of Port Elgin in 1999 and the first deputy-Mayor of Saugeen Shores 2000 to 2001. In his working life, John had a wide variety of employment experiences as a chemical technician, adult instructor, and Human Resources Consultant serving in the Nuclear Industry for 32 years. Since his retirement in 2002, he has been active with the Ontario Ministry of Health, serving on the LHIN for our area, and on the board of the Ontario College of Optometry for 12 years. John has been an active fundraiser for his community, and he has chaired the Rotary Huron Shore Run. John is a visionary leader with extensive experience in Board Governance. Recently, he has become Chair of the Saugeen Shores Community Fund Management Committee in association with Community Foundation Grey Bruce.

Sharon Vokes Kilsyth

Prior to retirement Sharon served the County of Grey for 38 years where she gained extensive municipal experience in senior management. She served as Interim CAO at the County for eight months in 2015. As a Director she managed a varied portfolio providing her with a broad range of skill sets that support diverse aspects of community wellbeing.

She is an Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk and holds a diploma in Public Administration from Western University. Sharon is also an active volunteer in the community having served on committees with the Association of Municipal Clerks Treasurers and Managers of Ontario, Georgian College and the Owen Sound and District Zonta Club. She also volunteers for the Municipal Retirees Organization of Ontario.

She lives near Kilsyth (Georgian Bluffs) with her husband. She has two sons and is the proud grandmother of six lively grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends.

Kim West Georgian Bluffs

Vice Chair
Kim is an active member of the Berford Lake Tennis Club. She was the founding champion and volunteer for Junior Achievement in the Grey Bruce area and supports the initiate with her recently established Kimberley J. West Foundation Fund held at Community Foundation Grey Bruce. Kim enjoys spending all her spare time with her family and friends.

Kim originally joined the Foundation in December 1998 and served as Board Chair in 2015-2016. She previously worked at TD Wealth Private Investment Advice office providing her high valued clients with exceptional customer service, providing customized, personalized wealth, retirement and estate plans to build and achieve their financial dreams and goals. Kim holds her Certified Financial Planner and Certified International Wealth Manager designations. She has held various positions with TD Bank Group for over 35 years.
